Blepharoplasty – Toms River, New Jersey

As you age, the delicate skin around your eyes naturally begins to droop and sag, which may cause you to appear tired or upset. Sagging upper lids can even contribute to problems with your vision. Using a technique known as blepharoplasty, the surgeons at our office in New Jersey can turn back the hands of time and restore a youthful appearance to the area around your eyes.

Blepharoplasty Surgery

Eyelid surgery, generally known as blepharoplasty, is a common procedure at our New Jersey practice. Our surgeons have exceptional experience and knowledge in this cosmetic surgery procedure. Many patients have turned to the Personal Enhancement Center to enhance their eyelids, diminishing the appearance of wrinkles and bags under the eyes.

During the blepharoplasty procedure, the surgeon will make a few small incisions, strategically placed in the upper eyelid creases or the inside of the eyelid, depending on the type of procedure. Next, excess fat and loose skin will be removed from the area. The incision will then be closed via a suture that will stay in place for a few days to allow for proper healing. Our surgeons have an artistic touch, so patients can rest assured that they will do what they can to minimize scarring.

Blepharoplasty at our New Jersey practice typically takes one to two hours to complete depending on the extent of the surgery. During your initial consultation, we will determine which eyelids need to be repaired, and you will learn more about the procedure and healing time.

After the Procedure

Healing time after blepharoplasty is about one to two weeks. Swelling and bruising are common side effects, though they normally dissipate within a week. Again, healing time will depend on the type of surgery performed, whether it involved upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both.

After the blepharoplasty procedure is completed at our New Jersey office, your eyes will look much younger, fresher, and more alert. Years will have been taken off of your face’s appearance, and your vision may be greatly improved.
